  Apparently the ownership of this place has recently changed and the service has gone downhill. The owner of this restaurant was incredibly rude. There was no sign telling customers to "wait to be seated", so people would come in and seat themselves. The owner would then approach the table and tell them to get up and wait for him to seat them, even though the restaurant and patio were mostly empty! He also told us that he was too busy to serve us and that we had to serve ourselves from the bar and take the food and drinks to our table. There were about ten tables when we arrived and two servers. By the end of our visit, there were two tables left and we still had to serve ourselves! I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant and I will absolutely never come back.

  We were massively disappointed when we found the Pub closed for lunch on August 4th when the website said "During our hot summer months, lunch will be served at noon everyday".
  
  We had planned our trip to Gabriola to include a nice long hike, followed by lunch at the only pub on that part of the Island. Sadly, we sat had to make do with a bottled beer and chocolate bars, sitting in a car in the parking lot.
